KILL-O’-THE-GRANGE PARISH NATIONAL SCHOOL

1st October, 2007

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I have now completed my first month as principal of Kill-o’-the-Grange National School. It is a highly progressive school with high standards and lovely children. I would like to thank all the staff for their terrific work and for making me feel so welcome. The entire staff are a dedicated team in the education of your children.

Attached is a holiday list and early closures for the year. The Junior Carol Service will take place on Thursday, 20th December at 9.30 a.m. as Hilary Guter (music) is not available on the Friday. The Senior Carol Service will take place as usual on the Thursday evening.

We are continuing to collect the Tesco vouchers although it would be preferable for companies to provide direct funding to schools if they wish.

Parents are welcome to contact teachers from 8.30 a.m. to 8.50 a.m. for messages. However, we cannot facilitate parent teacher meetings at this time without appointment. If you need a morning appointment I will happily supervise classes.

Please remind your children not to climb on the gates or basketball stands before and after school. Children should not be in the courtyard prior to the first bell and after school.

We are continuing to update our web-site with news and photographs. Photographs of children will be in groups and will not have names attached. However, if you do not want your child to appear on the web-site please advise us in writing by Monday 8th October.

I look forward to meeting you all again on Thursday 11th October at the PTA AGM. Please book your babysitters and come along to hear what’s happening in our school and we’ll take onboard ideas for the future. This meeting is also very important as it is your opportunity to elect your Parents’ Representatives who will be part of the management team for the next four years.

Reminder – Winter Uniform is now in operation.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs.Hilary McBain
Principal
