Please note that 60% of the sales will be given to the school in the form of books for our school library so it is in everyone’s interest to support our Book Fair and an opportunity for you to do some early Christmas shopping.

 LIBRARY AND PURCHASES

We are delighted to announce that the fully computerised school library will re-open on Monday 26th November.  Thanks to Wendy who has painstakingly re-catalogued every single book.  Thanks also to the Board of Management for funding the new computer software and the PTA who funded the computer to operate the new library.

Thanks also to the Board for funding the new interactive whiteboard which is being installed into sixth class today and to the PTA who purchased a lap-top for Mr. Malseed to operate the website and the whiteboard.

We will host a viewing session of the interactive whiteboard when it is operational.

The PTA also kindly funded a new TV for first and second class.

 OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Well  done to Mrs. Kathy Malseed and her team in 4th Class who organised the shoe boxes.  Thanks to all of you who donated the boxes.  I believe there were less than last year but with a total of 183 it was  very impressive to me and will make a difference to the children.

 CHRISTMAS FAIR

Please check the schoolbags for a note and raffle tickets for the Christmas Fair.  We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 1st December.

THIS WEEK

We welcome the Dance Theatre of Ireland to our school today who are holding a workshop for 3rd to 6th Class.  This day is being funded by an existing Arts Grant in the school accounts.

4th Class will be visiting the National History Museum on Friday as part of their History Curriculum.

 HAIR

For the prevention of head lice and the safety and well-being of the children we request that all children with long hair please have their hair tied back.

 NON-UNIFORM DAY

Many thanks for all your support on non-uniform day before half-term.  A total of €538 has been donated to the Longamere Project.

 DONATION OF SHIRTS

The time has come to replenish some of our stock of “painting aprons”.  Any donations of clean old mens’ shirts for this purpose would be most welcome to the School Office.
