Check out our Coke and Mentos experiment!

How about a healthy brown bread recipe. Check out 'Malseed's Loaf'!

Treasure Hunt - The Skeletal System

As part of our healthy eating campaign, we did some juicing - as you can see from the photos.
Glad to say, our juice was enjoyed by everyone.

It was a wet breaktime, so we used the time to get our fruit ready. There were oranges, apples, mangos, bananas, limes - to name but a few!

When class started again, we had some fun juicing ...

... and then enjoyed drinking the result!

    454 gm (1 lb) Self-Raising Flour
454 gm (1 lb) Wholemeal Flour
115 gm (approx. 4 oz) Bran (Oat Bran is best!)
60 gm (approx. 2 oz) Wheatgerm
60 gm (approx. 2 oz) Brown Sugar
    1 Tsp Salt
    1 Tbsp Bread Soda
A couple of knobs of Butter
142 mls. (5 ozs / quarter pint) Milk
    1 Litre Buttermilk

This recipe makes three loaves and certainly was much enjoyed by the class.
Mix together the dry ingredients, before adding the milk. Mix well and then divide among three two lb (kilo) loaf tins and bake in the oven for about 40 mins. As ovens vary (at least, they do in my experience!), check the bread at 35 mins.

    Enjoy!

Two mentos mints and a bottle of diet coke!

    A spectacular reaction!!
