Drop low E string to D .
Note: For the middle 8 section below I (Ken) have included three new chords for a slide
part. The (*) below in the last three chords denotes that fact that I couldn't really
think of what to name them or what they are named so I put them down as nines. Email me if
you know them.

There's a place out on the edge of town, sir,
E
A
E
Risin' above the factories and the fields
A
E
B
Now, ever since I was a child, I can remember
E
That mansion on the hill
In the day you can see the children playing
On the road that leads to those gates of hardened steel
Steel gates that completely surround, sir,
The mansion on the hill
At night my daddy'd take me and we'd ride
Through the streets of a town so silent and still
Park on a back road along the highway side
Look up at that mansion on the hill
In the summer all the lights would shine
There'd be music playin', people laughin' all the time
Me and my sister, we'd hide out in the tall cornfields
Sit and listen to the mansion on the hill
Tonight down here in Linden Town
I watch the cars rushin' by, home from the mill
There's a beautiful full moon rising
Above the mansion on the hill

Ok, this is the tab for the version I
recorded for MP3. People on the mailing list would know what I'm on about. If you want to
download it, go to the samples section on the official Mailing List Tribute
site, or go to the audio section of the site.
I recorded the song using a Takamine EN-10
(older model) and I played the song in Open D tuning (DADGAD), so here's those tabs. I'd
much rather play the song this way as it gives it such a rich texture.
Pay particular attention to the chord chart,
they're not normal chords like they are written above the lyrics.

The tabs for this come compliments of Conor Garry.
Cheers mate for supplying the tab. I've played out the song a few times and it's fairly
accurate so i'm not going to complain or change anything. He used the lyrics I typed up as
well so if there are any mistakes in that area it's my fault. Comments and questions to
the usual address.

Why? They just fail to understand.
Lie down - relax and just describe to me where it hurts,
And most your thoughts on how your body feels,
Prescribe your prescriptions,
It won't change a thing,
Symptomatic of the shaking of this new disease.
And you know you'll never laugh like that again,
Well that's okay everything is gay,
Swallow the pill,
It's better when you're levelled by the sadness,
And the madness,
The bottle's shaking in my mind,
Could you understand why,
There's trouble in your hand,
Why? They just fail to understand.
Levelled by the sadness,
And the madness,
The bottle's shaking in my mind,
Could you understand why,
There's trouble in your hand.
Why? They just fail to understand.

You've got to help me please,
I can feel the pressure building with Peroxatine,
Looking at you, looking at me,
I can feel it bangin' down...... (?)
..What I feel (?)
And you know you'll never laugh like that again,
Well that's OK everything is gay,
Swallow the pill,
It's better when you're levelled by the sadness,
And the madness,
The bottle's shaking in my mind,
Could you understand why,
Crumble in your hand.
Why? They just fail to understand.

The tabs for this come compliments of Conor Garry.
He used the lyrics I typed up as well so if there are any mistakes
in that area it's my fault. Comments and questions to the usual address.

maybe i'm listening but i'm too late
but that's allowed -
'cause i can't wait.
(and i'm there cause i can't)
dance alone,
'cause i've tuned my radio,
and i choose to let it go
but i don't care.
dance alone,
'cause i'm lost when i am found
