KPMG FC 1 – 3 Shipping & Transport Without the
Horse and the Tank this week KPMG seemed to be trotting with no ammunition.
With a strong wind blowing the controlling of the football was always going
to be difficult. Well for KPMG it was. The game started
brightly for the accountants as they had a lot of the early chances. The
first chance fell to Vince who saw his effort go inches wide. After this KPMG
created very little, all the pressure being put on the back four. The
brunette Emmanuelle Petite instigated most of the Shippings play. They played
attractive football that resulted in a lot of chances. They finally got the
breakthrough to the disgust of the KPMG players. A ball was played through to
their striker. He beat one player and with a thunderous left foot drive left
Barthez no chance of saving the shot. KPMG kept
pressurising their opponents’ goal and had the ball in the net, only to be cancelled
due to pushing in the area. 1 – 0 down at half time, KPMG felt they could
beat the Shipping and Transport team. Playing with the
wind in the second half, KPMG felt that a shot from anywhere could result in
the equaliser. Nut you know what they say…. You can’t score if you don’t have
possession. It’s a pity that the ball wasn’t a women cause maybe the KPMG
midfield may have looked at the ball during the kick outs. The second goal
came from goalkeeping bravery and stupidity. Barthez cleared the ball out for
a throw. From this throw, Shipping made mince meat out of the off side trap
that KPMG have been useless at the past few weeks. The ball was played into
the area and instead of using his hands, Barthez tried to kick it away. He
missed the ball and the striker latched onto the loose ball and slotted into
the empty net. The killer goal
and Shippings third came from nothing. A long ball up field to midfield where
KPMG were out classed and out played all night. The ball was played through
the heart of the KPMG defense, which this time did play a good offside trap
but the ref had other views. The forward shot through and rifled an
unstoppable shot into the roof of the net. KPMG’s heads
dropped but they still pushed forward. The ball came to Vince down the left.
With inch perfect accuracy he crossed the ball into the danger area. With his
head…. let me repeat that, with his head, Briano glanced the ball into the
back of the net. 3 – 1 was there still a chance. No there wasn’t. KPMG’s next came comes against PM 1979 and
if they are to get their first win of the season a MUCH better performance
must occur. |
