THE   HISTORY   OF   K.P.S. 


In 1811 a society was founded to promote education for the poor in Ireland. In 1817 it was named the Kildare Place Society (from which

the school got its name).  It got support from a lot of important Christians.  It also gave out almost one and a half million books by 1831.  

Kildare Place School used to  be on Kildare Street. It moved to the Rathgar/Rathmines School for Girls and Boys in 1960.  Around

1968 Kildare Place was built.  Kildare Place School and the Rathgar/Rathmines School for boys and girls joined together and made Kildare

Place School.

Mr. McMillian was the first principal of Kildare Place School. He was principal of our School from our School from 1965 to 1975.  The

 second principal of our school was Mr.McCollum  He was principal from1975 to 1985.  Since 1985 Mrs. Allen has been principal of Kildare

 Place School.  Here is a list of some past teachers:
