The Pegasus Cup
1999.
The story of
this cup win comes to life in the second half of the semi-final. Playing
against Ballymun and trailing 3-1, a spirited comeback led by team captain
Colm Roche evened the scores by full time.
Extra time
failed to produce a decisive score and a penalty shootout followed which
Ladyswell won 4-1.
The final was a
great occasion which will live long in he memory of all present, whether
they were parents, supporters, teachers but especially the players
themselves. The score was 4-0 against a Quarryvale team who were unable to
get going against a team who played with greater flair and invention on
the day.
The team was:
Wayne Tuohy, Daniel Doyle, Paul Doyle, Colm Roche, Robert Bennett, Darren
Fagan, Mark Hennessy, David Hennessy, Blaine Brogan, Robert Flanagan, Colm
Ennis, Keith O'Donohoe, Christopher McGuirk and David McDonagh.
Man of the
Match was Blaine Brogan.
Great credit
for this win must go to Ladyswell United F.C. trainers, coaches and
managers whose tireless efforts helped the players develop their skills.
