Location
Just a short walk from Ladyswell House, beneath the Rock of Cashel, lies Bru Boru, home to traditional Irish music. A few minutes walk brings you past St. Dominics Abbey, Cashel Folk Village and into the town centre and Cashel Heritage Centre, Cashel Palace and Bolton Library.
Ladyswell Street is one of the oldest streets in Cashel. It was for centuries the venue for the fairs of Cashel which were held up to a Quarter of a century ago. The first inhabitants here would have been before the time of Christ. Noted figures of history including St. Patrick would have walked through the area known now as Ladyswell Street to reach the Rock.
A holy well located at the North Eastern point of the Street was for centuries a place of pilgrimage. The street began to take it's present shape in the decade 1840 - 1850. While the terrace wall is referred to as the famine wall, work on it had started before the effects of the famine hit Cashel
