Lahardane replied quickly with a point to respond to Castlebar’s early goal. However, two spells of the homeside’s pressure resulted in four points at a time to leave Castlebar 1-8 to 0-4 ahead at half time.

Lahardane got their act together in the second half, taking some fine points, but it was only two late goals from Ross Nolan and Damien Kelly saw Lahardane fall short in hopes of avoiding a three-way play-off they find themselves in now.
