A Michael Benson point on the stroke of full time snatched a draw for Crossmolina in this winter league round one at St. Tiernan’s Park on Sunday morning last. It was a very exciting game of good open football in ideal weather conditions.

Lahardane opened with points from Declan Leonard and James Gillespie. Patrick Howley, David Moran and Noel Gillespie replied with points each for Crossmolina. A well-taken goal by Patrick Howley gave Crossmolina the lead at half time: 1-5 to 0-7.

Three minutes from time it looked like Vinnie Cawley had secured victory for Lahardane when he had a good point. However, a late point for Crossmolina tied the game.
