Lahardane avenge final defeat

In a rematch of the county under-14 final a few years ago, Lahardane at least overturned that result with Kilmeena with a flattering win at Bofeenaun.

At one stage in the first half Kilmeena looked comfortable with a 1-2 to 0-3 lead, but then the homeside got their act together to lead 0-7 to 1-3 at the interval.

A Paul Jordan goal on the restart was answered with a lucky goal at the other end. But with Brian and Cormac Rowland scoring frees and from play Lahardane eased clear. Both Mayo minor panelists at midfield - Lahardane's Damian Kelly and Anthony McDermott - delivered a great supply of ball to their attack, where Paul Jordan completed a hat-trick.

In what was a hard hitting game, Lahardane had a player sent-off in the closing minutes.
