John Madden opened the scoring in Glenhest with a good point, but Lahardanes jitters continued for the rest of the hour. Good defending by Anthony Irwin kept the score to 0-5 to 0-2 at half time.

The second half resumed with Lahardane stretching their lead to five points. It was the the Ballycastle rally began . . firstly a toe-poked goal from close range and a penalty earned and converted by John Madden put Ballycastle in the driving seat. The midfield pairing of Lahardane kept plugging away but with only seconds remaining a massive catch by Noel Garrett followed with a pass which found its way into Declan Leonard who despatched into the net. Ballycastle certainly deserved at least a draw.
