Crossmolina snatch a draw in Glenhest

In a thrilling U-16 North Mayo semi final at a very wet Glenhest on Sunday evening last Crossmolina snatched a draw against arch rivals, Lahardane, with the former scoring 3-4 against Lahardane's 1-10.

The visitors led at half time by 2-2 to 0-3 with an Aiden O'Donnell goal after just 30 seconds, followed by another from Jonathan Heffernan midway through the half, with two points from Barry Loftus, and with Cormac Rowland getting two and Dylan Nolan one for Lahardane.

Lahardane clawed their way back with a succession of points from frees by Cormac Rowland and points also from Michael Lynn and Dylan Nolan.

Eoin Syron replied with a point from play before David Reilly cracked home a goal from a beautiful through ball from the impressive Damien Leonard to put the home side in the driving seat with a three point advantage.

Crossmolina fought their way back with a cracking goal from the boot of Jonathan Heffernan in the 52th minute. Cormac Rowland and Barry Loftus exchanged points to leave the sides level.
