Lahardane's Junior team advance to the second round of the championship with a good win over a strong Ardagh side in Glenhest on Saturday evening.

Noel Garrett played a captain's role throughout winning some great ball at centre-half back. At the interval Lahardane lead by two points with Declan Waters finishing superbly with the game's only goal.

In the second half Ardagh fought hard and put massive pressure on the Lahardane defence but it took a magnificent diving save by full back Gary Naughton to ensure victory for the Nephinsiders. At the end Lahardane held on for a deserved 1-10 to 0-10 win.
