Pleasantly situated
at the northern tip of Lough Ramor, Virgina is the centre of a
lovely undulating countryside. A very neat and attractive little
town, it won the national award for two years in the "Tidy
Towns Competition" organised by the Irish Tourist Board.
It is a pleasant retreat for the angler, having over ten lakes
and four rivers within a radius of five miles. Virginias
own lovely Lough Ramor is one of Irelands most beautiful
lakes. It is more than five miles in length and is an excellent
coarse fishing lake with over thirty wooded islands and a fine
sandy stretch where good bathing is possible.
