Future Plans:,
The Lartigue Monorailway restoration is now complete, but two further elements of the project remain to be completed.
Lartigue Park:
The site of the original Lartigue terminus at Listowel is immediately adjacent
to the present Lartigue Track and the Company is presently developing this
area as a park incorporating the remains of the original switches and engine
shed. This will be available as a picnic area with appropriate walkways and
seating.
Museum and Interpretative Centre:
The original GW&SR (later CIE) goods shed for the main Limerick-Tralee
Line has been aquired by the Company and will be converted into a museum and
interpretative centre for the Lartigue Monorailway. It will also be the entrance
hall and ticket office and will include a cafeteria. It is hoped to commence
this development in 2004.
