Lawrence Vesey - About Me

I was born on the 27th September 1969, in London. My parents are James Vesey, originally from Kerry, and Margaret Fee, from Leitrim. We returned to Ireland in 1971, and have lived on the Roscommon side of Lanesborough, in the heart of Ireland, since 1974. I am the eldest of 6 children - my brothers and sister are John, Marie, Patrick, James and Thomas.

I graduated from University College, Dublin with a B Comm (1990), and a Masters in Management Science (1991). I am currently working with an IT Consulting company in Dublin.

I married Ethna Delaney in July 1997, and we have two sons; David and Mark.

Ethna is originally from Abbeyleix, a town with strong connections to another Vesey family, the de Vesci's (no relation as far as I know).

We now live in Naas, Co. Kildare.

My interests include history, genealogy, sport (especially soccer and Manchester United), reading and music. I started researching (albeit slowly) my family tree in January 1998, and I am also collecting any information I can on the wider Vesey family across the world. I have also started some work on my family tree on my mother's side.

To everyone that I have met on the web since I started this project, thanks for the help and feedback to date. To anyone who has a connection with the Veseys that I have not yet spoken to, or has a wider interest in Ireland and genealogy, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Lawrence.
