You will all by now have seen details of the 4th Lee Delta Blues Festival. It’s going to be an exciting weekend for lovers of real music. This year we’ve gotten excellent coverage in the media, listen out for Honeyboy Hickling on the Creedon Show on Fri June 2nd, and Connie Lush, again on Creedon on Mon June 5th. Everyone on the committee has worked very hard to make this weekend a success, so come out and give us your support….

Not content with a big weekend, we’re keeping the ball rolling into June with the visit of a mighty double bill to the Corner House on Thurs June 8th. It just so happens, by pure coincidence, that Jeff Lang and Ray Bonneville are both in town June 8th, so we asked, and they agreed to play the Corner. Both will perform a solo set before joining forces for an exciting finale. Jeff is Australian, famous for his acoustic lap steel, and resonator playing. He’s no stranger to Cork, having played the Lobby previously. Ray is Canadian, and he performs solo on an electric 6 string while keeping the beat on a stomp board. He gets the real down and dirty sound of juke joint blues.

Keeping with the global theme, we welcome the Polskadots on Thurs June 15th. This band featuring Eileen Healy plays folk music from Eastern Europe. This is rootsy foot tapping music played by a multinational crew, guaranteed to send you home smiling.

We’ll be keeping the weekly session going over the summer months, so make sure to drop in and say ‘Hello……………………..’.
