It
has been a busy few months for me. I have finally qualified as a Solicitor
and have moved jobs and house . I am now back in the "Fair-City" of Dublin
as a State Solicitor with the Office of the Chief State Solicitor. Some
updates in the Solicitors Section and with the election and change in Government
Departments I am waiting on their sites to change before amending the links. |

The
work continues on LEL>> Northern Ireland. I have also added
the Labour Court site to the Rep. of Ireland Court Pages. Also added
in the Irish Student Law Review in the Journals Section. The UCC Students
Law Society also gets a link. |

LEL
>> Northern Ireland is approximately 90% on-line and for the size of
the site this means that an awful lot of pages are working! I have been
busy checking the links and adding loads of links. Thoughts and comments
are welcome! |

A
new introduction page for the expanded Legal Eagle Links pages now including
Northern Ireland. The Norther Ireland pages are taking a little longer
than anticipated to compile but some of the pages are fully functional.
New sites have been added to the Solicitors pages and a broken link to
the Equality Agency has been restored. |

The
Christmas decorations have come down, the Euro has arrived, and LEL gets
a Northern Ireland page. This was envisaged at the start but only
now comes about. Currently the pages are under construction but they should
be fully functional by 31st January 2002 (Some of the javascripts are taking
longer than expected and are time consuming to debug ... the things I do
for you all!). |

A
new topic of Data Protection so that you can keep an eye on Big
Brother Laws. Also, some new firms added to the Solicitors pages
(thanks to all for the submissions). Finally, some Christmas decorations
to get you all in the seasonal spirit. |

I
revisted all the Government Sites and have added some interesting
new sites, including amongst others the Prison Service and the Register
for Births Deaths and Marriages. A new Topic of European
Union linking you to all the sites you can imagine. |

I
have been busy debugging some of the scripts and now think that these pages
should work fine on the vast majoruty of browsers. I have also added some
fancy Javascripts. Just however over the main-headings on the homepage
and have a look at the colourful popup boxes. Many thanks to those who
spotted the broken link in the Topics>> Conveyancing page. The Revenue
link now works. And finally ... I have found a homepage for a firm of solicitors
in County Meath! Also, Law Societies & Bar Associations
from all over the world were added. |

Some
more sites! The Topic Links has a new category of Conveyancing
& Property Law. Also, the Intellectual Property Links page now
provides a link to the new Patents Office site that has come on-line.
Also, the Wexford Solicitors Links has a new link. |

I
have added the OASIS site provided by the Government which provides
useful answers to practical issues. Also added is the Irish Lawyers on
Line. |

Some
technical updates! Not only is the site Microsoft Internet Explorer viewable,
but I have now made the site Netscape6 friendly. Those who use IE
should notice no difference, but Netscape browsers will now see an in-line
pink bar and no Marquee error! Making the pages compliant to both browsers
turned out to be more difficult than I had first anticipated dues to the
different methods each use to display frames. Thanks to your browsing a
broken link was spotted in the Sligo Solicitors section. This broken
link is now gone and in its stead is a live link. I spotted that the Home
Button was giving trouble, but I have edited the HTML to correct this
and give a more pleasing effect. |

A
lot of new changes within a few days! The "Who is LEL" is updated.
More links in the Source and Research. The area that I have been
working on for a while is the "Find a firm of Solicitors".
My artistic skills have resurfaced with a map of the country drawn by myself.
This is a quick way of locating solicitors around the country. Other subtle
changes are that a lot of the graphics have been cleaned and sharpened
up. |

Unfortunately,
I have been rather busy of late. However, things are back to a less hectic
setting and I have had a look at my pages again. New additions are the
Irish
Legal Information Initiative and Infoconsult. I have spotted
a few minor bugs on some of the pages and put these right. If you a screen
resolution of greater than 600x800 you will notice a more pleasing
effect.
I have
also decided to remove the Library of Links to articles on various topics
as despite e-mails to the respective sites requesting positive consent
to deep-linking, I have not received replies. So, playing it safe, I have
removed the links. |

From
your feedback it would appear that the Topic pages are the most
popular and hence more work will go into them. For the moment, the Employment
page has been updated with a link to the Office of the Director of Equality
Investigations which provides cases. The Employment page has also been
re-organised. A new Topic of Consumer and Food Law has been added.
This may appear a strange combination at first but given the recent (multiple)
crisis over different food scares, I have decided to group them together.
The Professional pages have been updated with some useful Tax
links, together with links to the Society of Young Solicitors and
to SADSI. Also, a new Topic has been added, that of Northern
Ireland. |

The
Legal Eagle Links >> Web Library is slowly coming on-line. This brings
together in one central location documents that are posted on the internet
by practitioners and academics writing on various topics. To view the library,
simply click on a Topic and the documents are all listed. Currently
under construction are Employment and Computers & IT. |

Many
thanks to all those who have provided feedback. Changes carried out today
include a new Topic page of Partnership Law. New sites added
to the Computers and IT Topic. The Intellectual Property Topic
page has been amended with new sites added. The Source and Research
page has been amended separating the Irish from the International sites.
Spelling errors are being thinned out though I'm sure some will continue
to survive! Please feel free to point them out! |

Unfortunately,
the Legal Eagle Links e-mail address is not working. This is being rectified
at the moment and should be up and running within the week ... or so the
technical people tell me. In the meantime, feel free to use the alternative
mail address of legaleaglelinks@eircom.net. |

Legal
Eagle Links >> Ireland goes online!!! After much thought and planning,
and also much searching for sites and realising that there had to a better
way of finding a useful site that would aid in search and research of law,
I put together these pages. |
