Royal Tara China

Royal Tara China is a factory that makes beautiful vases and ornaments. When we got to Royal Tara China we were split up into two groups. We were brought into the factory where clay and water were put into machines underground. After they took it out of the machines it was put into moulds. The excess was squeezed out through the hole in the top and was left to dry for 20 minutes.

After the excess was squeezed out the rough edges were scraped and they were wiped with sponges. Then they were dipped in glaze in a temperature of 1100 degrees celcius. When it was taken out it had reduced by 20%.

Then it is painted by hand by three ladies. They painted it with a speacial gold paint that costs £2000 per bottle! There are other women who transfer patterns on. After that it was fired again. Then we went into the show-rooms. Everything was beautiful but very expensive for us. They export their pottery to about 15 different countries.

The Atlantaquaria

We went to the Aqarium at 12 o'clock. There are two levels in the aquarium: the fresh water and salt water levels.

We first went to the wave pool and next to the octopus tank. We saw the poor cod. There was a touch pool on each floor, but the biggest one was on the ground floor. It contained sea ray and dog shark. The rays were spikey and as rough as sandpaper. We saw scorpion fish, lobsters and anemones.

On the first floor we saw nursery tanks, an estuary pool and an ocean pool. We all touched a starfish, and it felt really hard. There were salmon, pike and trout. We then got dinner and we bought things in their shop.

Leisureland

We finished off our tour with a visit to the Amusements. We had great fun in the bumping cars. Then we all went for a swim in the pool. It was a great tour.
