2nd Meitheamh (June), 2005
Almost six months since I last updated the site- too much has happened to relate right now. Those of you who know me know that I've been trapped in Limboland while I wait for the U.S. Goverment to grant a Visa so I can finally get back with my wife Tara, who moved over ahead of me last June. We were told at the time the wait would be four months max. It took almost a year. Anyway, I've planned to be in the USA before my birthday at the end of the month. Movers are being booked, flights arranged and general mayhem. Anyway, this will mean I'll be changing my email, moving my site to a shiny new server and generally making trouble for myself. Thanks must go out to Andy, Mags and Gearoid for patience and forbearence above and beyond the call of duty.
For those of you looking for shiny new pictures, here's a few links and reviews until I get a moment to update my galleries...

The Same Deep water as You by Aaron Weisbrod and myself- first appeared at Nightmare World, then as a short one-shot .

28th Samhain (November), 2004
Well, it's been two months and a lot of water
under the bridge.

I've finished off drawing two great stories: "The same Deep Water as you" by Aaron Weisbrod for Nightmare World and a Lovecraftian space horror story by Alex De Campi, which should be in print before long. Both cracking great creepfests.
Colorwise, I've finished off the first issue of Beyond Avalon for Desperado, published through Image Comics. I'll be putting up some samples of all this work as soon as possible. In the meantime, I enjoyed coloring this cover for 2000AD.

22nd Meán Fómhair (September), 2004
Finally had a chance to check in here after a month of relentless slog.
Finished a couple of comics for 2000AD and AP Comics, picked up three new color gigs- none of which I'm indiscreet enough to tell you all about just yet.
Watched the first episode of Deadwood on Sky, but TG4, the Irish language channel here has been showing Carnivale which has proven to that HBO really have taken charge.

28th Lughnasa (August), 2004
Talk about feast or famine- Monster Club #2 with art by B1N4RY's Jim Sutherns and colors by yours truly is out now from AP Comics.
Decided against travel abroad- don't really need the hassle just yet, so I'll probably hold out for a few more weeks. Wandering the British Museum and the V&A remain amongst of my favorite things to do anywhere, ever. With that in mind- the exquisite anticipation of doing so in the future should act as a spur to get my work done.
Won't be the same- I'll miss eating hotdogs with Tara at the gates.
<cue forlorn sigh>

Those nasty ass mutant pigeons should be there though.
<cue shudder>

Never rains but it pours.
Just received copies of Nightmare World: No Hope= No Fear from Aaron. Features a whole mess of stories, including "Those about to Rock!" drawn by myself. A sordid tale of fame, mascara and ROCK. These were on sale at Chicago the other week and are still available from the site itself, so support the underdog and indies of quality.

In return, Aaron got a stack of 2000ADs, which are as rare spices of Cathay in Ohio by all accounts. I just hope he doesn't suffer a thrill-overload or something...
We're currently debating where in the U.S.A. we'd want to end up. It's the classic contridictions: we want the country but convenient to an urban centre, most likely East Coast. A half decent infrastructure is pretty important as well as proximity to a college (Tara would like to teach if possible). Suggestions to this email. Not that we'll base our future from some random emails, but every pearl of wisdom helps.

25th Lughnasa (August), 2004
Cover I colored for the Megazine by Dylan Teague turned up on the shelves this morning- very happy with it.
Been offered new work- nothing more to be said until the ink is dry. Very tempted to take a break and fly to London for a weekend and just chill out.

15th Lughnasa (August), 2004
I've just read what I typed in a haze yesterday morning- I must apologise for such self indulgent twaddle. The APC gig looks like being a goer, so I'm a happy camper. Aaron is off at The WizardWorld Con at Chicago, shamelessly plugging our stuff. If you see him there, be gentle. He's not up to swimming with the sharks- poor wee lamb. Hellboy still hasn't turned up here yet, but I've managed to see a copy from the States and was pretty delighted to see it stick so true to the vision of the original (with Mike Mignola on board, it could hardly have gone any other way). Going to watch Cabin Fever tonight, should be good.

Ahhh- R&R!

14th Lughnasa (August), 2004

It's 2a.m. and I've just finished another batch of colors for AP Comics for the night. Been too busy to write here, but my colors for Tyranny Rex: Redux came out in 2000AD in the meantime and I'm pretty happy with them. I'm back coloring another story by Steve Yeowell this week, which probably won't be seen for a while yet. On top of that there's The Nightmare World and a story I've just written for APC which looks promising, so I'll give a shot at drawing it too tomorrow morning. Should make a nice change. The doodle to the
right is pretty close to my current state.

A life? Pah! Who needs a life? I've got Comics.

20th Iuil (July), 2004
Well that was a busy couple of days and no mistake.
Jack Lawrence and Theo Bain have left AP Comics found their own company- RuneMaster Studios- and the very best of luck to them. The upshot of this is I'm now coloring Monster Club in addition to everything else. So never let it be said I rest on my laurels! The Nightmare World story is continuing apace- it's small, close wee story that has allowed me to loosen up my line, since the deadline is tighter then a drum.

12th Iuil (July), 2004
The lads at Com.X just sent me a copy of The Last American (I contributed a poster for the gallery). Congratulations to Mick for this- he's always been an artist's artist over here, but hopefully he'll finally get the wide acclaim he deserves. Started work on a new Nightmare World story called "The Same Deep Water as You". A great script by Aaron Weisbrod, based on one of my ramblings on Irish folklore.
My sister got married last weekend and is flying out this morning to Sorento for their Honeymoon. Congratulations and manly handshakes all round.

15th Bealtaine (June), 2004
CLA$$WAR reviews came across my inbox today, and the word has been good- the only negative being thwarted desire for even more as soon as possible...
Review 1: Silver Bullet
Review 2: CHUD

7th Meitheamh (June), 2004
Well, I'm finally starting to recover from Bristol and the Comic Festival. Met loads of my dear friends, drank too much peach tea and pressed much flesh, mainly sucessfully. Hung out with the AP Comics team, at whose stand I was for most of the weekend. Thanks are due to Rich, Phil and company for much hospitality.
Fungus the BogieMan was well received for Charity Comic too.
Honorable mention must go to poor Dylan Teague who inadvertently tried to sell me some artwork when I came over to introduce myself. Mea Culpa.

18th Bealtaine (May), 2004
Possible Crisis Averted!
Well, the troops rallied and we've sorted ourselves out, homewise. New contact details will be coming up on the site closer to D-Day. There'll probably be a slight lapse in communication for a few days post Bristol as we move and re-establish our internet. Hey, you're all very sensible and if it's that urgent, you can phone.

14th Bealtaine (May), 2004
AAAAGGGHHH!!
I needed that.
My LandLady has decided to sell our house, and since our lease is due, we have to move! It's all terribly traumatic, but we have some good people on our side. In a weird way it's for the best for us, with our move to the USA coming up and all. Bristol will be a great reprieve...

10th Bealtaine (May), 2004
After what has seemed an age (seven Months to be exact), I've finally managed to squeeze in the time to re-do my site. I've been horrendously busy these past months.

Amongst things, I've been designing the production for a hush hush project for a major software developer, I've been working on CLA$$WAR for Com.X (#4 is coming out this month!), been coloring projects for APC Comics and 2000AD.
The best fun though has been Nightmare World with my mate Aaron Weisbrod and drawing a pitch for my other friend Alex de Campi called LOWLIVES. I'm sure I've forgotten people, but you know who you are.

Oh, and I got really beardy too.
So wander around, take in the sights and I'll talk to ya soon.
