By Bernard O'Neill
Limerick FC toppled UL Aisling 2-0 in an all Shannonside eircom League Under-21 derby in Annacotty this evening.
First half goals from midfielder John Boyle and defender Gary Prout secured the points for Billy Barrett's side.

Boyle slammed home in the third minute after his initial shot was parried into his path and Prout beat the offside trap to neatly slot home after racing unto a Wayne Colbert through ball just under the half hour mark.

Liam Costelloe almost made if three shortly afterwards with a rasping drive from a Conor Sinnot corner which came back off the post, and Limericks Gary Sheehan was denied by an excellent save from the UL/Aisling keeper ten minutes after the break.

Both of these sides will meet in the second round of the Enda McGuill cup in the coming weeks.

Limerick FC: O'Regan, Prout (Smith 50), Danagher, Colbert, Conway, Boyle (Collins 80) Sinnot (Miller 75), Burke, Costelloe (Hayes 70) Sheehan, Guerin (Maroney 88).
