During the Winter-Spring of 1996-97, major redevelopment took place on the playing facilities in Kilanerin Ballyfad GAA Club's grounds.

The redevelopment consisted of major work on the dressing rooms and the development of a second playing pitch adjacent to the current pitch. Most of the funds needed to complete this ambitious plan have been raised as the entire parish got behind the club.

The main fund-raising effort concentrated on a weekend in August 1997 when Horse trainer Sue Brammall opened her new home, Borleigh Manor, to the public. A fund-raising dinner and a field day were held.

Now the rewards are in full view to see. The work is still to be fully cmpleted but most of the work is done. The second playing pitch, though not quite full size is maturibg well, and the dressing rooms facilities are now superb. Now with four dressing rooms, two of which have showers, and a huge new meeting room with kitchen as well as public toilets, the club can be well proud of it's achievement.
