On the 1840 census, township of Cheektowaga, we find
Barbara DIEFENBACH listed on the same census page as
Nicholas ZURBRICK & Michael ZURBRICK, her son-in-law.
Barbara had in the household:
1 female 60-70 (Barbara)
1 female 30-40
1 male age 5-10.

Alexander joined the Navy and was ship's carpenter on the HMSMinotaur. He died of dysentery at the Kells Workhouse Hospital, at ayouthful age. Curiously, he had bought a cemetary plot in Londonderryin Feb. of 1872--"Alexander... of 5 Rosemount in Londonderry, ...plot102"
Alexander brought a parrot to Killacoona which lived many years andwas reputed to have joined in the family rosary each night.
