"Jerome" STONE married Emeline LOVERIDGE and moved near Elmira,Chemung co., NY (according to info at the New Milford Hist. Soc. onthe family of David Stone & 2nd wife Abbey).
A David J. Stone (b. abt 1809) was found in Dix, Chemung co., NY in1850, married to Emiline - both were b. in Connecticut. (maybe he wasDavid Jerome Stone; a Jerome Stone was not found near Elmira.)
The same person (with same wife & children) was listed as David D.Stone in 1855 in Dix, Schuyler co., NY. (living near "Lorrain" &Abigail Stone.) David /Jerome was a carpenter.
The same person (with same wife & children) was listed as David G.Stone in Southport, Chemung co., NY in 1860 (living near Lauren Stone& Abigail.)
It is reasonable to think that this is David Jerome Stone, brother ofGarry Stone that was aka Jerome married to Emeline Loveridge.
David & Emeline might have another son, Rollin L. STONE:
Rollin L. STONE, d. 8 Sep 1922, aged 86y, in Dix, Schuyler co., NY,
bur. Woodlawn cem. in Chemung co., NY
Rollin L. STONE, Co. C 68th N. Y. National Guard, Corporal, Union(only one found).
[501] Aged 90 years.
[2312] Probably married in Connecticut (where the census indicated they wereborn) then migrated to Dix in about 1840. Census indicates that theywere resident in Dix for 15 years in 1855.
