[448] The Lead Mine closed approx. 1884.

[444] Nantcwnlle/Nancwnlle is a parish located about 6 miles due north ofLampeter. It's on the ordnance survey map 'Lampeter, Llandovery andsurrounding area', Landranger series, Sheet 146. The grid referencenumber of the parish church, which I think is called the church of St.Cwnlle, is SN 576 586, between the villages of Bwlch-Llan andPenlancwnlle.

[445] He is said to have died working under a train. The conductor did notrealize David was making repairs, and ran over him. His house wasnear a rail platform, so this makes sense.

[446] From original Nantcwnlle Church records--"March 21st 1852, DavidEvans, son of Eleanor and Evan Evans, Labourer, of Bwlch Mynydd(nearby village), baptised by Evan Evans, Vicar. On the same day, thesame couple had a child called Thomas baptised, but it does not saythey were twins, which it seems to do if they were. His entry comesfirst, so he may have been older than David." Also saw this on theLDS search site.

[2311] Both were born in the old county of Cardiganshire, Wales, so theirmarriage may have occurred there.
