A House for Elizabeth

House

A verse about PERMISSION

First section is by an unknown author. (It hangs in HH's kitchen);

Last two verses written by Rosie for her mother 23/11/96

I love a house that's 'lived-in'

with clutter here and there;

A magazine left open,

a jacket on a chair.

A smell of something cooking

A special recipe?

An over-eager offer

of hospitality.

I love a house that's 'lived-in'

It seems to stand apart,

For in it is a PERSON

who has a loving heart.

I love house that's cluttered

with rubbish everywhere.

I know that if I need something

I'll find it on the stair,

and somewhere in the kitchen

there used to be a chair!

I sleep upon my piles of junk

like a dragon in its lair.

I'd love a house that's tidy

with most things in their place.

I'd like to look around the room

and see some empty space;

but still I'd need a messy room

which I would call my base

'Cos order in disorder

is really more my taste!!!

LAURA CASEY LOVES THE POEM

BECAUSE IT IS VERY FUNNY
