February 1999 Vol. V No. 2
A Brief NewsNotes this time.
Am in the midst of my studies and my teaching, not to mention my job and my home and family.
Christmas was good - Have come across a quote from Stewart/Joines which I have found very helpful:
Script is that part of the Frame of Reference that includes Discounts
(TA To-day, p190)
For me it greatly simplified the concept of Script . Discounts I can fully understand - I may not catch myself in the act of discounting, but I certainly can identify what I have discounted. when life goes awry.
So that could be a rather belated New Year's Resolution: To develop more awareness in my life, so as to reduce discounting, and to nibble away at the negative parts of my Script.
This will take TIME - something I don't give myself enough of.
Have a good 1999. Hope to see you at some of our meetings
You can learn to use old skills in new ways.

Monthly Meetings
Pat tells me that the January meeting using the video was quite successful.
One discount TAI need to recognize concerns our feelings about small attendances at meetings.
Sometimes a meeting of two or three can get more done than 20. So Keep coming

January Meeting
Hazel was away on business so has had to defer her presentation.
Elizabeth stepped in at short notice, and spoke about Frame of Reference to a small but attentive audience. A warm welcome was extended to Tony's brother Pat and his wife Nancy from Perth Australia
The topic Frame of Reference is very important as it is like the window we look on life through.
If our Frame is cluttered with out-dated information, our vision will be blocked to a greater or lesser degree.
Our Frame contains some information which is accurate, and some which is distorted. It takes awareness to distinguish which parts we need to maintain, and which parts we need to change.
The group decided that the Inchicore venue is unsuitable on a number of points and that there will be no more TAI meetings there in future. Until a new venue is found, contact 4511125 for details of where the group will meet each month.
BERNE QUOTE
It isn't true that your life
is a struggle unless you make it so. Stop struggling, and start living.
