The Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce, the Urban
District Council, and local tourism interests came together to form 'Destination
Letterkenny'. The purpose is to promote Letterkenny as a tourist base for
touring Donegal and surrounding areas. The main project was to produce
a colour brochure which was launched in January 1996.
'Destination Letterkenny' has taken stands at many
Holiday Fairs throughout Ireland, Northern Ireland and the U.K, including
Dublin and Belfast. Funding for the brochure was received from the European
Regional Development Fund (Bord Failte), local businesses, Letterkenny
Urban District Council and Donegal County Council.
