Activities
The Federation works to promote the interests of amateur historians and voluntary museums and to represent their views.
Each year we arrange a number of seminars in different parts of Ireland.
We produce a number of publications such as a regular Federation newsletter and journal.
We provide support for those doing research on local history topics.
We arrange benefits for our member societies.

Publications
During the year the Federation, in keeping with its brief of maintaining contact with societies, issues an annual journal and quarterly newsletter. These publications are a useful channel for local history societies throughout the country to publicise their activities and publications.
