Barley
Barley seeds more than 8500 years old have been found in archaeological excavations in the Near East and some experts say that the crop was cultivated as far back as 9,000 years ago in Ethiopia and southern Tibet. It used as a bread flour, as a breakfast cereal and for pearl barley which is made by removing the seed husks and grinding .The grain is used in soups and stews. Feeding barley is processed in various ways to provide a very valuable meal for feeding livestock.
