On April 9th 2001 my class and I visited Coca- Cola.  Here is  an account of  our  tour. It was a fantastic trip and  we had great  fun.

It was an  interesting, experience and an important, educational visit. We  travelled by bus to the plant at Kylemore Road. The journey lasted 15 minutes.

We were singing to pass the time. It cost nothing-it was all free. When we arrived there  they  welcomed  us and  we sat  in  the classroom. Tom and Maureen   were  our  guides  for the visit . We   spent  three  hours  there.

First of all we were  told the story  of how Coca- Cola  was  invented. Next  we  got  a  drink  of  coke. We  were asked  questions and  if  you got  the answer  right   you   got  a  can   of   coke.

Later  on  we  were  taken  on  a  tour  of  the factory.                        We  saw Dixie  an  old  machine  that  fills  the   coke  bottles.         The  factory  was  cool,  the  machines  were  very  loud and  the  bottles  were  rattling. There  were  lots  of  people  working  there. They were all  wearing  white  or  navy   boiler   suits   and  earplugs  to  protect  their  ears   from  the  loud, continuous  noise.

We  had  to  follow   the  yellow  brick  road  which  led  us up to a  big  huge  green  and  yellow  stairs and  we  were  able  to  look  down  at  and  conveyor  belt that was  moving  the  bottles.     We had to stay on the yellow brick road  but if anyone stepped off it we lost a point. Nobody from Tom's team stepped of it so that team scored ten out of ten  but  Maureen's   team   only  got   91/2  because  some  people  ran ahead   on  their  way  back.

We  saw a picture of the Coco-Cola polar bear. When we stared at it his eyes moved.  On  the way home  Tom   told  us  to wear  our  hats  and to wave at the people we saw. We   enjoyed the day  at Coca -Cola. We would love to go again.
