Author Visit 2001 

It was a Thursday morning my class and I were very excited because it was the day we were going to meet a famous author called Marita Colon Mc Kenna. We waited impatiently with all our questions for her. Everytime we  heard a knock at the door we jumped to answer it .Finally, our principal Sr.Justine told us that she was in the school hall. We all rushed to the classroom door but then we realised that if she saw us running all over the school she probably would think she was in the zoo. 

When we got to the school hall my face  dropped when I saw her standing right in front of me. Why my face dropped, I do not know, probably because she was not what I imagined she would be. In fact she was amazing. She told us about her childhood and how her Mam and Dad did not approve of all the stories she wrote but still stood by her.                    

She answered and listened to our questions. Also  she took extra time to sign autographs and take a few pictures with us. I really hope I meet her again because the next time I will be well prepared and in fact by then I might be a writer like  Marita Conlon Mc Kenna.
