Environmental Competition Prize Winners
by Carla, Rachel, Ciara and Stacey Room 1
Environment Week, Ballyfermot was held between 21st - 25th of May. Environment Week was held to create an awareness of pollution and litter in the environment. Every class in every primary school was asked to do a poster concerning the environment.
Our teacher arranged and joined four coloured pages and each girl was assigned a topic to work on .Topics included Re-cycling and pollution. We used slogans such as:
Litter is Bitter
Say no to Pollution
If you use it you won't Lose it
Pollution is the Wrong Solution
Teacher had an extremely important part to play in the
project. She drew a very large world map and we spent days covering it with blue
and green crepe paper. Environment Week 2001 was written in bubble
writing. All the posters were stuck on the coloured background. When it was put
together it looked fabulous.
About 2 weeks later we received it back. Our class was delighted when we found out we had won first prize. We were very excited and couldn't get over it.
We were very, very happy because we had put in a lot of effort.
