2006 Season

The Autumn Series will get underway on Saturdat 26 August 2006. Prior to then thwe Garraunfada and the LDYC Visitor's Cup will be sailed from Dromineer prior to the LDYC Regatta (see diary). With three other open races; The Gortmore Bell, The Ciss Ryan Cup, and the Garry Visitor's Cup, all taking place in the Autumn there is a great incentive for big fleets to take to the water.

Racing

This year the racing will be in a new format with two fleets provided for. See Racing Notices re divided fleet.

The racing program details the O.O.D. for each race. Please note your particular date and if for any reason you cannot attend on the day specified ensure that you recruit a suitable substitute.

All Club annual subscriptions should be paid by now and in any event not later than 13 May 2006. Membership will lapse in the event of payment not being made by 13 May. All skippers should note that a boat in respect of which a subscription has not been paid at or before the commencement of a Series will not be eligible for a Series prize.

End of Season

In order to facilitate planning of members who may be undertaking world cruises or extended voyages, the following dates should be noted.

a) the laying up supper will take place on Saturday 4 November 2006.

b) the Club AGM will take place on 28 October 2006.

Club Outing

A very successful outing to Williamstown took place in May. Sixteen Boats participated and keen competition in various sporting and intellectual contests resulted in prizes for all. The prospects of forming a golfing section of the club has clearly become more realistic. The evening concluded with a very enjoyable bar-b-que and the usual festivities, the entire event being ably organised by Lynch Event Management.
