Koe Cup Series (at least one of the LDYC races must be sailed)

 

This series shall consist of the following races:

 

1. Commodores Cup I.S.C.       TBA

2. Garanfada Cup L.D.Y.C.      13 August

3. Visitors Cup L.D.Y.C.           20 August

4. Gortmore Bell I.S.C.             09 Sept.

5. Ciss Ryan Cup G.S.C.           23 Sept.

6. Visitors Cup G.S.C.              14 Oct.

Divided Fleet

Following the resolutio passed at the AGM the committee has decided to divide the fleet in two for club races. Different courses starting at the same time on the same start line will be laid. The finish will be through the same finishing line in the same direction. The rationale is that both class 1 and class 2 will sail different courses that finishes in both classes in about 2hrs 30 mins. Detailed instructions for the race officer will be included in the OOD's pack which is to be collected (and returned) from either Brian Lynch or Jim Hughes. (see below).

 

Class 1 Boats - Eliminator, Funtastique, Celtic Carisma, Valentian, Redbreast, Joy Ride,                        Rayon de Lune,Charlie's Angel

Class 2 Boats - Fara, Rhapsody, Vamoose, Antilope, Dulcibella,  Silver Cygnet, Nonie,   Free Bird, Storm Bird

 

Daily Prizes

Details re prizes for both classes will be presented on the day

 

If an open race is not sailed on the prescribed day the Committee will rearrange same

Duties of the O.O.D.

 

The flags, prizes and "O.O.D. Pack" are to be collected from either Jim Hughes Tel 067 23001 or Brian Lynch  and the results together with the flags etc are to be returned to Jim Hughes/Brian Lynch after racing. The O.O.D. should be in Garrykennedy at least 30 minutes before racing. The nominated O.O.D. must be equipped with a calculator.

 

The "O.O.D. pack" will contain:-

 

    1. The watch

    2. Relevant flags

    3. Sailing Instructions

    4. Protest Forms

    5. Protest instructions

    6. List of current handicaps

    7. Conversion table - seconds to decimal of minute

    8. Result sheet for completion

    9. Specimen result sheet for reference

    10. Instructions (in layman's terms) for starting

    11. The racing rules of sailing 2005 - 2008

    12. Prizes

 

In the event of a protest a provisional result may be declared with the protest heard at a later date. This would happen if it were not possible to convene a protest hearing on the day comprising of people with no interest in the proceedings.

Insurance declaration

All participating skippers, please complete and hand in the insurance declaration form to the Sailing Secretary. A copy of this form was enclosed with the Spring 2006 newsletter
