This is what we use our computers for. We all have turns on the computer which is down at the bottom of the class-room. The rest of the class is not supposed to turn around and look while someone else is on the computer. We play games but they are not really games. They teach us stuff when we are playing. We use headphones when the game has sound.

We do projects and then we put them up on our website when we are finished. We put them up on the walls in school as well. If you want to see some, visit our web-site. People in other places are always writing to us telling us that they have visited the website and that they think it is cool.

You could see Benny Energy, our project about the environment or read about "Sail Chernobyl - Voyage of Hope", an Irish family we have been writing to who are sailing around the world for the Chernobyl Children's Project.

Our opinion:

School has changed a lot from the time our parents were going to school…

They had pens with nibs, which kept breaking. Headmasters had permission to whack children with the cane not like our teachers. Blackboards were on easels. He would have had blotting paper if they spilled ink. Good hard working children got secondary school scholarships.

But I think it's changed for the best, and by the look of things it will change a lot more in the future. This is what I think the school of the future will be like:

In the future we won't have copies for writing in.

We will have laptop computers, much better! The teacher will not have blackboards anymore. Instead they will have giant computer screens. On the teacher's desk they will have a keyboard. They use that to put sums on the giant board, simple! We won't use 4 legged chairs any more. We will have floating chairs, can manoeuvre to any destination, superb! We won't have any more lunch boxes. Instead, in the morning we each receive a claim ticket. We programme into it what we want for break eg. Ham sandwich. Then at break when the bell rings we slide our ticket into the wall and an arm comes down with your sandwich, Bón Apetít.
When people are sick they will e-mail the school to explain their absence. But then on our laptops at home there will be a camera system so we can see what is going on in school. All day learning all the time. When there is a rainy day a dome will slide over the school and lights turn on round the school. Also the school will have underground heating in the yard that automatically melts ice. Au Revoir bad weather days!
