MARK GEARY Guitars
This guitarist extraordinaire hails from Mitchelstown. Unfussed and unphased
on stage, Mark's razor performances could cut steel with the sounds that he
create (as they used to say in `72 - " He can make it talk").
He had a mercifully brief sojourn with the now ill-fated "Black
Pearl" (he apologises to both family and friends for any grievance
or misunderstanding this may have caused). A craftsman of the fret board and a
skilful surfer of the six string he plays like the dreamy amalgamation of a jazz
master's brain with the hands of Radiohead. This ability was given a fine-tuning
at London's G.I.T. - guitar institute (some think all of CORTEZ should be
institutionalised!"). He has left many a packed bar forgetting they had
drinks in their hands.
BEST MOMENT: An improvised / Impresario solo in the Riverboat
Song - a veritable feast of sounds befitting a riverboat trip into the heart of
darkness.
