Bobby
.
There were some good moments in Bobby, but it mostly dragged on. It wasn't
my first choice and it definitely wasn't worth it. I had much higher
expectations due to the cast featuring, Anthony Hopkins, Elijah Wood, Craig
Lamar Traylor (Stevie from Malcolm in the Middle). There was also Ashton
Kutcher, with a very similar role to his on in That 70's Show, only he deals
LSD to two lads who are canvassing for Robert F. Kennedy, who provide the
comic relief in the film.
The film is based on the day of the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy
(JFK's brother). He is running for president at the time, and the film is
centred on guests and staff at the hotel, where he was shot and his campaign
headquarters, during that day. There is no actor for Kennedy. Instead they
use actual footage from the time (although there are moments when they use
screen-shots from the side and back of an actor for Kennedy).
The film drags on way for way too long, and isn't that entertaining. If I
was the late Senator Kennedy I would be disappointed. They only good parts
were with Aston Kutcher and the stoner's he deals to.
I wouldn't recommend the film to anyone who wants action, or even suspense.
I would only really recommend it to people who want something factual or
older people who remember hearing about it on the news. I would give the
film a very poor 3/10, mainly because of the comic relief.
