Ultimate Spiderman - DS

The good:All your favourite spidey baddies are included,great combat system&effective storyline.

The Bad:A few tweaks here and there,controls are a bit confusing at first nothing major.

I dont know what motivated me to get a spiderman game,whether it was that Im a long running spidey fan,having the birthday money to buy it or the interesting twist of being able to play as the all time grand-stand spidey baddie the insane,the twisted Venom (and yes,he did need that long intro).

The first thing that struck me was the graphics of the game, its not that they were brilliant but they werent that bad either,a fair bit higher then mediocre know what I mean?No?

Then screw you.

One of the best concepts of the game is the combat system it was the traditional push the button and punch style that I think we all need to remember in these crazy days of 3D format.The comabt system for venom goes 2 ways either you can use a touch screen control style movement of either swinging your purple tetancle to throw your foes across the room or just to have a quick bite to eat by dragging them towards you. Another thing about the game is that it stays to the original comic book (or 'graphic novel' as some of the nerdier of us put them) story not adding or throwing out any parts like a certain movie that made me sick.... But anyways,in between the levels theirs a comic book panel interval to help move the story along with some interesting playmates to beat the living crap out of.

I suppose I should get round to those 'few tweaks here and there' I mentioned. The first thing I suppose I should mention is the perplexing and sometimes fatal webbing system. If you dont get your timing just right,the web fails and you fall so for all those with slow reaction times beware. The controls are as I so eloquently put are ''a bit confusing'' Lets see you got your B for web B for jump so you want to go B,B then B again,then sling your enemies push Y lightly???? dude,smoking pot is less confusing*.

So in conlusion I give this game a healthy 7/10.It losses marks in the button control area,but because of the good multi-player,keeps to the book storyline and combat system gives this game the gracious honour.

*Just to add to the point about pot,I do not,nor ever had smoked pot.(honest ;) ) no,really stay in school and dont do drugs.If you dont believe me,listen to that song by that dude 'Because I got high' he'll explain it for you.
