Annaduff National School

Annaduff N.S. school was opened in 1985 on a Thursday at 2.00 pm. The school has five teachers. Like most rural schools the population has been decreasing a lot over the years but in recent years that trend has changed. Some of the sports played in the school are football and basketball. The school has done very well in these sports and has won a lot of medals and trophies over the years.

The Museum

The museum in our school has very many interesting and fascinating objects. Most of the objects we have date back to the 1900's. We have the old school bell that dates back to 1935, old rusted flute that was made in 1940 and a model of a ship that dates back to 1930.

Old School Profile

The old school was built in 1889. It had five classrooms. The population in the old school was very high compared to the new school. Some of the earliest teachers in the old school were Thomas and Cecilia Lavin who taught in Annaduff in the first decade of this century. Thomas P. Cox taught in Annaduff for 50 years. He was one of the longest serving teachers to teach in Annaduff.
