Two Buddha (-esses) - statues I came across in Sukothai, in Thailand. They were not together at the time.
" I began to wend my way back down south, stopping at Sukothai,
which was for a brief period the capital city. The new town is quite small
and scruffy, but there is a historical city with the ruins of many temples.
It is set on a very large dry plain, and patches of irrigated rice paddies,
bright spring green. I hired a bike to go around the ruins set among trees
and ponds, and saw lotus lilies growing for the first time."
