Fears are growing for pop star Richey James who disappeared hours before he was due to jet off on tour with his band, the Manic Street Preachers.
Police say James, who mysteriously vanished on February 1, has a history of manic depression.
The band has postponed a 30-date tour of America, which was due to start next week. A spokesman said yesterday: "We have no idea where he is or what has happened to him. The band is very concerned." James, 28, is known to have driven to his home in Cardiff without his passport and other documents. He hasn't used his credit cards since he disappeared.
James also has a history of the slimming disease anorexia and last year he booked himself into a clinic after suffering a mental breakdown.
Friends say he suffered nervous exhaustion as he struggled to cope with fame.
