MANIC STREET PREACHERS have announced details of a new single to be released next month, as well as plans for a new tour for next year. Lifted from their platinum-selling album 'Everything Must Go', 'Australia' will be released on December 2 in three formats, one of which features a remix of the track by Justin Robertson, of Lionrock, and a Stealth Sonic Orchestra version of the Manics' 1992 hit, 'Motorcycle Emptiness'.
Other formats feature Manic Street Preachers' cover version of Primal Scream's 'Velocity Girl', and the band also tackle cover versions of Camper Van Beethoven's cult track 'Take The Skinheads Bowling' and 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You', the cheesy club standard which was a hit for crooner Andy Williams in the '60s.
After their UK dates next month, which start at Manchester Apollo on December 11 and finish at the London Forum on December 16, the band's next live dates will be next April at Blackpool Empress Ballroom (April 2), Doncaster Dome (3), Glasgow SEC (5), Birmingham Aston Villa Leisure Centre (6), Brighton Centre (8), Plymouth Pavilions (9), Reading Rivermead Centre (10) and London Royal Albert Hall (12). Tickets are available from the usual outlets.
