Team Burger King compete in the ESB Superleague and Mens Sprite Cup and have been quite successful in the past few years.
Marathon is the underage section of our club. They compete at U12, U14, U16, U17, U19 and Intermediate Mens age levels.
The Irish Superleague
The Men's Basketball Superleague is a major undertaking in Irish Basketball. The Superleague consists of fourteen clubs from around the country playing on a home and away basis (28 Games) from September to April. The remit of each francise is to increase crowd support, develop television marketing and enhance the semi-professional status of the sport over the next three to five years.
Limerick's superleague team is made up of the top young talent in the area as well as a number of Professional American Players. The teams's home venue is the University of Limerick. The University is currently constructing a new £10.2 million Basketball facility which will incorporate seating for over 700 spectators and includes four basketball courts. This along with other new facilities in the city is proof of the growth of the game in the Limerick Area.
The Limerick Superleague Team is competing successfully with the best that Ireland has to offer. This is borne out by the fact that Limerick has reached the quarter finals of the prestigious National Sprite Cup (The equivalent to the All-Ireland Championships in other sports). Limerick will also appear on National Television during their Superleague Campaign this season.
