Patrick Hillery was born in Co.Clare in 1923. He went to a school in Milltown Malbay. Later he attended Rockwell College and University College Dublin. Patrick married a lady named Mary Finnegan and she gave birth to two children.

He became a Medical Officer for Milltown Malbay. He was Irelands frist European Commissioner in 1973 and 3 years later Hillery became the 6th President of Ireland. Patrick Hillery held his position as President for 2 terms and then unfortunatly his time as President was up.
