Our
school, Mary Help of Christians, was originally situated in the Phoenix Park
and was known as Scoil Phairc an Fhionn Uisce. We moved here to Navan Road in
1969.
To
explore what school life was like in the "olden days", we examined
a register from the old school, dated from 1860's/1870's. We chose some of
the children to profile, in order to give us an idea of their lives. Each
girl in our class role-played her chosen character and then illustrated the
child as she imagined him or her to be.
We
also interviewed parents who are past pupls of the old school.
