The Badger

The badger is a mammal. He has very short legs but strong ones. They have long nails. The badger is 90 cm long. They eat fruits, roots, beechnuts, eggs, frogs, snails, worms and insects.

The badger lives in deep burrows. It digs a deep chamber where it spends the winter. The cubs are born in early spring, or later if the weather is very cold. There are two or three in a litter. Each is about 5 inches long and covered with short dirty-white fur.
