Alister Cole and partner Coleen, Martin Boyce and John Farrell have joined the Touring Group on Saturdays. Henry Crowley and Roger Tegart will be participating in B and C races respectively. Other members include Rachel Beck who enjoy triathlon events and finally Frank Billings, Aoife McGovern, Conor McGrane and Dermot Fagan are all very welcome. We would also like to acknowledge the departure of John Peppard, Tony O' Malley and Simon Whelan all of whom have served the club well and we wish them success in the future.

Club League: The Club League commences on the 16th of April and enclosed please find the fixture list. A fee of 3 euro for club members and 5 euro for non-members will apply. It is important that marshals/stewards attend their designated race or make alternative arrangements so as to ensure that the events take place in a safe manner. The committee also requests that the Chief Marshall conduct a final sweep of the course at the end of a race to ensure nobody gets lost!

Useful Web Sites/E-Mail Addresses:

General News: February was the month for extensive training in preparation for the new season! Sean Lally and the troops returned from a hard training session in Spain, while Terry and Tess’s Saturday Motley Touring Group are still recovering from a hard social session in Nerja - Spain!! see photographs later. Incidentally, Ken Brennan and Colm Stafford were charged 5euro per kg of Bike weight as excess baggage at Malaga Airport, (although others in the group avoided the cost!)… so beware in the future.

On a more serious note and on behalf of all club members we would like to offer our condolences to the recent passing of Terry Quinlan’s father-RIP. In addition, our thoughts are with the Maxwell Family in remembrance of Kieran.

Club Tour in May: The club tour will takes place on Sunday 25th of May from Fingallians GAA Club. Registration is at 8.30am, departing at 9.00am. There will be an 80 and 50 miles route. We would appreciate if members could make themselves available and support the event. Showers and refreshments will be provided.

Membership Form: Enclosed please find a Membership Form for those who have not got the chance to complete it to date. It is important to return the form as soon as possible so that you have the appropriate licence and insurance cover.

The intention is to have those who go somewhat faster to cycle a longer route and meet Tom’s group at the tea stop and return together. If you have family members or friends who might have expressed an interest in cycling, then, this is an ideal opportunity to start.
