Mountmellick Community School
Humourfit

This drama group visited the school on 9th December as an educational visit for the students of Mountmellick Community School.  Humour fit arrived this year with a one-man show, where the actor, Michael O’Sullivan, performed excellent drama pieces.

The junior show in the morning lasted an hour and a half, and brought to light many interesting and topical issues, such as the Millennium, mimes about the teachers staff room, soccer and hurling impressions on scoring. As well as a piece about “I am David,” which Michael said was not as humourous as the other acts.

The Senior show in the early afternoon was disturbed by an unexpected visitor, a bird trapped in the hall!!!  Once settled, the students enjoyed presentations from Patrick Kavanagh’s ‘Tarry Flynn’, a moving extract from Brian Keenan’s Autobiography ‘An Evil Cradling’, an animated rendition from Roald Dahl’s ‘Revolting Rhymes’, and numerous entertaining selections of mime.
